Welcome
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved comic books. I could never get enough of them growing up and one of my fondest memories as a boy was my dad taking me to the comic book shop and letting me pick out a Superman comic. I was hooked and there was no turning back.
I didn't become a serious collector until I was in high school. It was then that I finally started taking proper care of my comic books. The most disappointing part of that period of my life was that I had no one to share my fandom with. I lived in a small town about 90 minutes east of Denver, Colorado. Kids my age weren't interested in comics out there; so I kept that part of me to myself, save for a few of my closest friends. It wasn't until I went to college in the fall of 2004 that I finally got to meet other geeks and boy, did my fandom grow
My love for comic books goes beyond the escapism that comes with reading about the fictional exploits of our favorite characters, but the real-world undertones that are embedded into so many stories: from Superman's Jewish-inspired origin to the purely political creation that is Captain America - and the X-men's fight for acceptance at the height of the Civil Rights Era
There is so much that we can learn from the color-splashed pages of comic books and it is my hope that we, as a society, can someday achieve the level of love and idealism that we see from so many of the most popular comic book characters.

Here on this site, I will post my thoughts on the latest comic book news, share pictures of my comic books collection and comic-related adventures, and post the latest episodes of my podcast, "Panel By Panel with Tom Meaney."

All I want to do is be a geek and connect with other geeks.
